Effie was born to my E litter so it was my 5th litter. Her name comes from a character in the novel Silas Marner by George Eliot....well, that's what I thought; it turns out I got it wrong! (The character was actually Eppie). But it was a great name I kept it. It turned out to be usful when she was naughty!!!! Her accolades included awards for both the Weimaraner Association's 'Top Dog' and the Weimaraner Club of Great Britain's 'Weimaraner of the Year', two years running for points obtained in two disciplines; working and showing. Her hunting and pointing gained a Spring pointing Test grading of very good on partridge when she was 11 months old......Phew! No hares on her run!
She was the first dog I had a Best in Show with - at Windsor Gundog Open Show in 2004. What a moment! Another high point was when she obtained her Junior Warrant (my first). She qualified for the Kennel Club semi-final Junior Warrant Competition in 2004. At Championship Shows she was a finalist of the Pet Plan Junior Stakes at Peterborough and also won Special Beginners Stakes classes twice. She was my first dog to gain a Reserve Challenge Certificate. She produced 2 litters.
