His name comes from the village on the Island of Aland in Finland
where his sire lived. He developed early into a fabulous dog with a
strong desire to hunt, point and retrieve and you can't keep him out of water. He accompanied us for several years on a shoot, which runs a bit like a rough shoot for several guns on vast open grassland. He was an asset, holding his points staunchly until guns got into place.
